About Us

Tane and Maureen Datta have been cultivating regenerative agriculture systems as homesteaders on their certified organic farm since 1979. Their daughter, Saffron, has developed a lab on the farm for medicinal plant preservation and product lines.

Our mission is to engage in ecologically sound
community and land development based on organic farming,
alternative energy and complimentary medicine.

Production on the 7.5 acre farm in Honaunau, South Kona Hawaii includes micro mix, edible flowers, herbs, greens, avocados, tropical fruit and medicinal plants. The home and production areas are “off the grid” and solar powered. Onsite composting systems use earthworms to recycle the soil. Rain catchment and county water fill the tanks for production and home use.

Adaptations is a multi-faceted company handling mostly fresh plants used as food and as medicine. Over two hundred Cinnamon trees forest the land between orchard trees, raised beds, containers and greenhouses. Medicinal plants grow in cultivated production systems and in wildcrafted areas.

The company's approach to business relationships requires a skilled and conscientious work force. The employees of Adaptations have extensive experience in tropical agriculture and a personal commitment to excellence in their positions.
